A few years back I was sitting in my cube at work trying to come up with a concept for an old school pulp sci-fi comic cover to do and kept coming back to the images of aliens/robots/monsters carrying off a damsel in distress. So, my weird thought was "what if these monsters went about courting these women the proper way?" and drew an awkward nervous looking werewolf waiting on his date in her apartment hallway. Its still one of my favorite concepts and drawings. I came up with the name Part-Time WereWolf because he was A) always a werewolf, and B) always working full-time so this name sounded funny and had a stupid story behind it. Soon I started sketching covers of PTWW in random real world situations with a bad pun for a title and a ridiculous blurb about the issue. Recently I went back and finished my favorite of the covers digitally and I plan on doing at least a few more in a similar fashion. So here I present the original cover, the sketch and final version of "Fear the Underdog".

Original Concept Cover for PTWW "Lovesick Lunatic" or "A Date for Dinner" |

Original Cover drawing for "Fear the Underdog". The pose still makes me laugh as that is how a half-man half-canine would try and catch a football, right? |

Final version of PTWW 27 "Fear the Underdog" I am quite proud of how this turned out. |
This guy will make an awesome comic some day.
